Bible Text:
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” — Romans 12:3 (KJV)
Many believers spend years praying and waiting for more faith, unaware that you already have faith. According to the Bible, when you became born again, God didn’t give you a measure of faith—He gave you the measure of faith. This means every believer starts with the same kind of supernatural faith, not a lesser version.
What Is Faith?
Faith is described in Hebrews 11:1 as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” It is our spiritual eyesight—the only way we can relate to a God we cannot physically see. And without it, it’s impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
But here’s the good news: God has given us faith. The moment you received Christ, you also received God’s supernatural faith and this is the faith that overcomes the world. If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, that you are forgiven, and that heaven is your eternal home—even though you haven’t seen these things—then you’re already walking in faith. That belief is evidence that you already have faith working within you.
Understanding the Measure of Faith
Romans 12:3 says “God has dealt to every man THE measure of faith.” This phrase is important. It means every born-again believer receives the same measure, not more or less based on effort or experience. It’s not a matter of quantity, but understanding.
The Apostle Peter echoed this truth when he wrote, “to them that have obtained like precious faith with us” (2 Peter 1:1). That means the same powerful faith that raised the dead through Peter and Paul lives in you today.
Even Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “…the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God…”—not just faith in Christ, but the faith of Christ. This means the quality and kind of faith Jesus had is what now resides in you!
How to Activate the Faith You Already Have
You don’t need more faith—you need to activate what you’ve already received. So, how do you activate the faith you already have? Romans 10:17 gives us the answer: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” As you continuously hear, read, and meditate on the Word, faith grows in understanding and influence in your life.
According to Galatians 5:22-23, faith is a fruit of the Spirit. That means it’s already part of your born-again nature—it just needs to be stirred, exercised, and released.
Here are some ways to activate your faith:
- Speak the Word: Confess what God says, not what you feel.
- Act on God’s Word: Faith without works is dead (James 2:17).
- Pray and believe: Expect answers because God is faithful.
- Lay hands on the sick: Demonstrate your faith with action.
- Reject fear and doubt: Replace them with God’s promises.
Bible Verses About Having Faith
If you want to go deeper, here are some powerful Bible verses about having faith:
- Mark 11:22-24 – “Have faith in God… whatever you ask in prayer, believe…”
- Matthew 17:20 – “If you have faith as a mustard seed… nothing shall be impossible to you.”
- 2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
- Hebrews 11:6 – “Without faith it is impossible to please God…”

Final Thoughts: You Already Have What You Need
You don’t need to wait for God to give you more faith. You have the faith of Jesus, the same faith that healed the sick, calmed storms, and raised the dead. God has given us faith, and now it’s our responsibility to use it.
Stop saying, “I wish I had faith like so-and-so.” You have it. Meditate on the Word. Declare what you believe. Step out and act on it. That’s how you grow and see results.
Confession
As I have received the truth of God’s Word, I declare that my faith is working. I am receiving answers to prayers, I am healing the sick, raising the dead, setting the captives free, and nothing shall be impossible for me. Amen!
